Sandra Ward: 389 Jefferson Drive, Pittsburgh PA 15228
Oil, Pen, Ink & Wash, Digital
I teach children and young adult in small class setting so that I can give each student as much individual attention as possible.
The classes are no more than 8 students at any time and I find this is a great asset in the development of the young artist.
The courses begin with the drawing basics using pencil and charcoal to learn about form, line and values to enable them to give
their work the look of 3 dimensions. The course progresses adding different media in conjunction with learning about the history of art.
I am a very experienced artist instructor having taught at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts , the conservatory of Music in Philadelphia,
McMurray art league, The Philadelphia School District and many others.

Conchitina & Jerry
During the past year,
Jerry worked on a very large plein air painting (6 feet by 9 feet) at one of
Lake Como's most prestigious villas. Some have asked about it. He completed the
work in July and will eventually make a YouTube video based upon his experience.
In the meantime, here are some photos:
This year has gone very well so far. Our first set of classes in late Spring was attended by a group of very interested and dynamic painters and we couldnUt ask for a nicer way to start our year. The next set, which begins in September, is nearly fully booked. In fact, we have only two spaces left the week of October 3-9. If you know anyone who may be interested, please feel free to forward this email.
I would like to call your attention to a new book that Jerry has just written on the Impressionist method. Below is a note by Jerry describing the book, but better than that is the link below, which will enable you to preview and order the book online. I'm biased, of course, but I really believe you will not find a book that so comprehensively explains the Impressionist method. Conchitina
We have also published a 40-page catalog of Lake Como paintings. You can preview and order it here:
We hope you read the book. We would love to know what you think.
P.S. If you could kindly forward this message to members of your art group, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
