acknowledge all who attended the opening reception for Habitats & History:
A Collection in Photo-Expressionism by Jim Miller. As always we enjoyed
having you and thank you for patronizing the arts. Exhibition continues
through November 28, 2009.
Artist, writer and archeologist Jim Miller's paintings originate from
personal photographs, then he recreates them. He has coined this method
as "photo expressionism" differing from photo realism because it is only a
representation of the original photograph. Thus, we are merely spectators
in Mr. Miller's versions of events. Experiences such as archaeological
digs and painting industrial remains of Western Pennsylvania, inspired Mr.
Miller to call upon his own historical roots and conjure up self-discovery
with this presented collection of works.
