Don’t forget to register for your favorite
IAA workshops coming up in June. Please see your May-August 2008 IAA newsletter for more information and registration forms:

Correction: Beverly Botsford’s
Melted Wax/Crayon Art workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18 (not June 16 as was printed in the newsletter), 12:30-4PM. This class is great creative fun for youth as well as adults. You’ll be amazed how beautiful your work turns out, no matter how new or how advanced you are in art.

Photoshop For Artists should be a very informative workshop for anyone who wants to manipulate art photographs or use photography to enhance your artwork. Dr. James Richey is coming from the Johnstown area to speak with us on Saturday, June 21, 10AM-12 noon. Attendance is limited, so register early.

Also upcoming are
A Day with Plein Air (June 25, 10:30am-3pm, free to members), and Abstract Painting in Acrylic (July 26 and August 2, 9:30am-1pm). Youth are welcome to register for these classes as well as adults. Check your newsletter for more information.

Artists, don’t be shy.
Enter upcoming shows listed in the newsletter. For example, landscape paintings and photographs are needed for an exhibit June 1-Sept. 14 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Indiana. Contact Julie Engelmann 724-357-9149 or julie@vitaconnect.com.

The
Arts Camp Summer 2008 brochure is posted on the IAA web site at www.indianaartassociation.org (see Youth). Register early for this extremely popular camp for K-12th graders.

Clay, anyone?  IUP will hold Clay Camps for ages 9-12 and 13-17, and Adult Pottery as well, in July. Call them at 724-357-2227 for more info or a brochure.
Also, Stoke Hole Pottery is holding ceramics classes. Call 724-349-1557.

Finally, don’t forget that now is the time to renew or begin your
IAA membership for the coming year, June 1, 2008-May 31, 2009. It's just $15. Thank you!

Have a wonderful summer, filled with creativity. Your next IAA newsletter, the September-December 2008 issue, will come out in late August.
