What I Do
I practice the craft of painting every day in order to try and achieve a
natural quality. Occasionally, when the muse hits or I have something
to say, my guns are loaded, and it comes out of the brush. If we're lucky,
we come up with some sort of art.
What I Did
Born in Pittsburgh, Was adopted. Drawing urges were nurtured early by
my parents with lessons from Jean Slinker pushed me along to continue,
I got a lot out of art school, but I was out exploring on my own and missing
classes. Herbert Olds, at C.M.U. was a wonderful teacher and a great drawer.
After a year and a half, I quit art school but continue to this day to be an art
student. I've been open to influences by studying under Robert Brackman,
Henry Koerner, Raphael Soyer, and masters of the past and present.
What I Will Do
I'll always be a student and continue to paint and show in small galleries
allowing me the room to move. I am a bashful introvert who just paints and
is thankful for the process and to the viewer who is as much a part of it as
anything. I hope you have fun looking at these images.
