Sculpture Garden for Logan Square:
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/front_page/20080410_Sculpture_garden_for_Logan_Square.html
I am surprised there are no PA sculptors who could adorn their State's
park with their work.  No PA sculptors that could use this kind of
exposure and 5 million dollars?  This "artist" Tom Otterness
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Otterness
 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en-us&q=tom+otterness+dog+shot&btnG=Search
isn't even from PA and he adopted then killed a dog to film it for
"art".  He claims he is sorry for it- now that bloggers are busting
him (for fear of his public funds drying up?) and says he did it in
1977 as if the time passage changes the act somehow.  He then showed
it off in an art show in the mid-80's.  How sorry are you when a
decade later you are still proud of what you did?  Aren't there PA
sculptors and people, who don't take life for the fun of it, available
to do this sculpture garden?  Even if there aren't any PA sculptors
who want this do you seriously think there aren't better artists in
all of the US that can do this they pick this kind of person?

Sculptor/Artist; We are so surrounded by copies of things today that this attitude towards
life is not surprising. In a world where it is more important that we grow up to have a good
"stable" lifestyle, it just is not easy to choose a profession of stability for your soul. I choose
to be an artist because of the love for what I do...that alone is my stability.

William J. Wessel: 2100 Mary Street, Studio 201, Pittsburgh, PA
His fantastic menagerie of dragons, fro princes, dinosaurs, and other clawed things brims
with energy and beauty. Rendered in burnished, pitted steel, the imaginary beasts leap and
roar with a genuine animal vitality. So strong is his ability to convey vigorous dynamic
motion that the illusion of animation is impossible to resist.

Butler
Bill Secunda Studios: 160 Portman Road, Butler, PA 16002
Bill Secunda is a self-taught metal sculptor who delights in creating the most detailed of insects to the wildest of creatures.
As a young boy he spent many hours watching a neighbor weld and fabricate heavy equipment.  The welding process intrigued him.
During welding classes, Bill would practice his welding techniques by turning lifeless scrap metal into his first artistic creations.
Today his sculptures range from giant insects, realistic animals, to representations of Christ.
